A Devotion

I enjoy watching things build up....buildings, homes and most of all youth.  Imagine if we could start to build from the middle or even from the top as a foundation (virtually impossible), what would be the result?  What would be the support or foundation?  If we build a house without a foundation what are the possible outcomes?

I'd like to make a recommendation.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance (Acts 20:32).  So the word of His grace is ABLE to build us up and give us an inheritance.  Imagine yourself the building of God.

The place (our hearts) where God inhabits is built up through the word of His grace.  The word offers grace (Jesus Christ's self sacrifice; 2 Corinthians 8:9).  Reminder it's absolutely free.  We are able to self-construct a dwelling place for God through His word of grace.  As we lay brick upon brick atop the foundation of Jesus Christ we are building up a strong dwelling place for the word of His grace.  The word of His grace gives us an inheritance.  The word of His grace allows us to walk in grace

Start anticipating being recipients
of your heavenly inheritance.  An inheritance is obtained by being born into a family.   We have been born again into the family of God. "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name: who were born . . . of God" (John 1:12-13). We who believe in Jesus are God's children, "and if children, then heirs — heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ" (Romans 8:17).

My God and Father, I'm happy, so happy as I think of the inheritance that You are preparing for me by Your grace. Lord, you are my Strength, I need Your mighty work of grace that I might be edified myself, and be edifying to my peers. Please remove from my life any matters that do not flow from the grace of Jesus, my Lord, Amen.
